First post about Analysis essay Section C2
what topic or topics are you considering for a class project, and why?
The main topic I want to talk about is how entering college depends on your families financial situation. How less-affluent children have a disadvantage when finding a college that is affordable and if they have the time to be fully committed to school. That fully committed mindset to school is a huge part of success with students whether that be with the party, professional, or mobility pathway. I want to be able to talk about the pathways and relate them to financial stances with families to make students aware going to college is not necessary unless you are financially able to handle it. It feels as if most students, among myself, think it is necessary to go to college to be successful later, but college only makes that easier and putting yourself in debt or not fully focusing on school may not be worth the risk of going into student debt.
So recap, talk about both financial standings for a family, and point out that going to college is recommended only when money will not be an issue. Being in debt and having to work during college years takes away from the pathways and purpose of college for making connections to people and finding a career path. Also, talking about the consequences of not having a fully committed mindset to school and one of the pathways. These consequences can lead to having a degree in a major you do not like because you were unable to fully focus on that career choice and path you can regret your decision on the degree you have. And student debt may not be worth it if you are going for a major that is not highly degree required. Going to school should be clear and have a purpose for that student before enrolling.
